C’est Moi! About Me

I am a wife to my best friend. We’ve been married for 15 years. We still act like newlyweds. We talk and text throughout the day and still have lots to say to each other in the evenings. That is, when we are awake.

I am a mom to three amazing little people. Two girls, ages 10 & 7 and a boy, nearly 3. They are my everything. They make me crazy (and they make me grey) but I love them with all of my being.

I am pet parent to a one year old beagle who still has a lot of accidents and is very, very rambunctious, a one year old cat that my husband  found wandering when it was a very tiny kitten, a robo hamster (I call it ”the rat”)  the littlest girl fell in love with and now an empty fish tank (they all died!).

I left a more than full time job (the only remorse is financial) to become a Domestic Goddess, a Chauffeur, an Executive Chef, CFO, and Conflict Negotiator. Not to mention several other jobs, the least favorite being Sanitation Engineer.

In my spare time (as I would like to think I have any) I am also a crafter (I’ll try most crafts once), a photographer, a scrapbooker, a card maker, an organizer of closets and unruly drawers, a gardener (lots of veges!) and a consumer of wine and lots of coffee. I love baking, cooking and kitchen gadgets. I get the biggest kick out of trying the latest and greatest kitchen gadget. I fawn over Williams Sonoma catalogs when they arrive, treating it like the Martha Stewart and Real Simple magazines; off limits to others before I read them.   Oh, and there must be something chocolate every day. Just a little bit to satiate my cravings.

I love books, especially cookbooks. I read them like novels.  I listen to all genres of music and love to go to the movies (especially mushy romantic ones, period pieces and foreign language films).  I love Netflix and I am sure I am their best customer. I tend to keep their movies for way too long.

I spend way too much of the night online reading blogs and searching articles. I am absolutely addicted to Twitter. I really could use some more sleep.

Before my change in employment status, my dream was to own a pied-a-terre in Paris. It is my other New York and one my most favorite places. It just feels like home every time I am there.  I miss it terribly.   Now, unfortunately, I will have to be happy with one trip a year. Or rather, one trip every two years.

It’s a crazy life, but it’s mine and it’s My Life and My Joy.
